Visiting the Research Center

The Research Center is open to the general public; there is no charge to use the research facilities.

First time visitors are asked to fill out a registration form, and will be issued a research card. All visitors are asked to sign the guest register.

Lockers are available for personal belongings. Purses, briefcases, backpacks and bags are not permitted in the Research Center.

Hours

The Research Center is open 9:00am to 4:45pm Monday through Saturday. On the first Monday of each month, the center is open 9:00am to 7:45pm. The center is closed Sundays and all state holidays.

Research Guidelines

  • Smoking, food and beverages are not allowed in the Research Center
  • Please turn cell phones and pagers to off or silent
  • Cameras and scanners are not allowed in the Research Center
  • To help protect research materials, patrons are asked to use pencil only (provided)
  • Patrons may access archive materials by filling out a Record Retrieval Request Form
  • Saturday access to archive materials should be requested by 4:00pm Friday
  • Select books and all archive materials are to be viewed only in the Rare Book Room, where patrons are asked to wear cotton gloves (provided) and use extreme care
  • Research materials are non-circulating
