OHS Board of Directors
Alan Loeffler
Appointed
State At-Large, Stillwater
Term expiring 2025
Alan Loeffler is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with an engineering degree. After graduation he began working with students as a staff member with Campus Crusade for Christ for seven years in Illinois and Beirut, Lebanon. He then worked in Oklahoma City at his family’s HVAC distribution business for forty-three years. He and his wife Deborah retired from the business in 2020 after leading the company for over thirty years.
His interests in history encompass family, company, and engineering society. Loeffler took up the mantle of family historian from his mother, who saved all kinds of photos and records, and has made some interesting discoveries of “lost” family members. The family business, Federal Corporation, is a 104-year-old company. Recently, a treasure trove of construction blueprints from the early 1900s of Oklahoma commercial buildings Loeffler’s grandfather worked on were discovered. These old blueprints are being processed and offered to the present-day owners of schools, hospitals, hotels, and office buildings.
Loeffler also held the office of historian for ten years for the Central Oklahoma Chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, an HVAC engineering society, writing numerous articles concerning Oklahoma individuals and past HVAC projects.
