“Vintage Snack Sets” Exhibit at Fred Drummond Home
HOMINY, Okla. — The Fred Drummond Home in Hominy will feature a “Vintage Snack Sets” exhibit throughout the month of August. During the 1940s, ’50s, ’60s and ’70s, women were expected to entertain at home by hosting teas, coffees or church socials. Often they would use pretty snack sets that included a plate with a round indention to hold the matching cup. This exhibit will include pieces by manufacturers such as Anchor Hocking, Hazel-Atlas, the Indiana Glass Company, Royal Windsor, Queen Anne and Royal Albert.
The exhibit is included in the regular admission to the Drummond Home. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors ages 62 and older, $4 for students ages 6 to 18 years, free for children ages 5 and under and free for all veterans and active military with ID. There also is a group rate of $5 each for groups of 10 visitors or more. The home is located at 305 North Price in Hominy. For more information, please call 918-885-2374.
The Fred Drummond Home is a division of the Oklahoma Historical Society. The mission of the Oklahoma Historical Society is to collect, preserve and share the history and culture of the state of Oklahoma and its people.
