Guthrie’s Distinctive Homes Tour Includes Stop at Oklahoma Territorial Museum and Carnegie Library
GUTHRIE, Okla. — The Oklahoma Territorial Museum and Carnegie Library in Guthrie will be part of a tour that showcases some of the most distinctive homes and historic buildings in town on Saturday, December 3, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
Visitors will hear tales of the early days of Oklahoma’s first capital. Wassail will be served at the Carnegie Library to warm the hearts and hands of tour participants. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased from the Guthrie Territorial Christmas Foundation.
Guthrie’s Territorial Christmas festivities will begin with the Lighted Christmas Parade and the Territorial Governor Ceremonies on Saturday, November 26. The Oklahoma Territorial Museum will have Christmas trees on display throughout the season in the Carnegie Library. Victorian Walk Nights in historic downtown Guthrie are also planned on two Saturdays, December 3 and 10. During the Victorian Walk Nights, buildings in the downtown historic district will be decorated with Christmas lights. Roaming performers, musicians and the sweet sound of carolers will drift overhead as families take in the delights of the season. Live performances with people in Victorian clothing will take place in lighted shop windows along the route.
