Jelly and Jam Canning Workshop Planned at Fort Towson Historic Site

FORT TOWSON, Okla. — Fort Towson Historic Site will host a jelly and jam canning workshop on Saturday, May 27 from 1-4 p.m. The instructor is Kris Bailey, family and consumer sciences educator with the OSU Extension office in Choctaw County.

Bailey will teach participants how to safely preserve jelly and jam while getting hands-on experience with the process. She will show the class how to make a quick batch of grape jelly and strawberry jam, which each person will get to take home.

The cost of the workshop is $10 per person. The class is limited to ten people. The workshop is for anyone eight or older. You can reserve your spot ahead of time and pay with exact cash or a check at the workshop. Checks can be made out to Choctaw County Extension.
