Pioneer Woman Museum to Host Two Glass Fusing Classes

PONCA CITY, Okla. — The Pioneer Woman Museum and artist Audrey Schmitz will host two sessions of the popular interactive glass fusing class “Glass and a Glass!” on Saturday, April 20. Participants can select either the 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. class. With the $25 registration fee, guests can create two custom items by choosing from pendants, magnets or keychains.

Schmitz will teach the class about the art of fused glass and let the group try their hand at “inclusions.” Along with a wide array of colorful art glass, other materials such as frit, wire, dots, stringer and copper sheets will be available. Additional custom items can be made for an extra fee. Complimentary drinks and snacks will be available.

“Glass and a Glass!” is for ages 18 and up. No prior experience with glass is required. Reservations can be made by calling the Pioneer Woman Museum at 580-765-6108 or visiting the site at 701 Monument Rd. in Ponca City. Each class is limited to 14 people.

The Pioneer Woman Museum and Statue is a division of the Oklahoma Historical Society. The mission of the Oklahoma Historical Society is to collect, preserve and share the history and culture of the state of Oklahoma and its people.
