Bill Establishing Revolving Fund for Oklahoma Museum of Popular Culture Passes House and Senate

OKLAHOMA CITY — A bill that establishes a revolving fund for the Oklahoma Museum of Popular Culture (OKPOP) in downtown Tulsa passed the Oklahoma Senate on Tuesday and the Oklahoma House on Thursday. Senate Bill 1155 establishes a fund to hold $18 million set aside by lawmakers last session until matching funds are raised.

“We are thankful for the legislators who helped get this bill passed so we can access the money previously appropriated for this world-class museum,” said Jake Krumwiede, director of OKPOP. “This legislation is necessary to put us on a path to completing the museum.”

The bill now goes to the governor’s desk to be signed into law. If signed, the bill will take effect on July 1.
