State Historic Preservation Office Webinar to Focus on OSU Library’s Extensive Collection of Maps
OKLAHOMA CITY — The State Historic Preservation Office will hold a free webinar on Thursday, August 8, at noon, focusing on the collections housed in the maps division of the Edmon Low Library at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. Kevin Dyke, maps and spatial data curator at the Edmon Low Library, will be the featured speaker. Dyke will discuss the collection and how the public can access it.
The library’s McCasland Maps and Spatial Data department has more than 150,000 sheet maps, tens of thousands of aerial photographs and hundreds of atlases in its collection, which primarily focuses on Oklahoma. Many of the maps and photographs have been digitized and are available online.
Registration for the webinar is required. For more information, contact Kristina Wyckoff, Section 106 coordinator and historic archaeologist, at 405-521-6381 or kristina.wyckoff@history.ok.gov.
