Kilgen Theatre Organ Performance at Oklahoma History Center to Feature Mel Brooks’ “Silent Movie”
OKLAHOMA CITY — On Monday, February 24, from 7-8:30 p.m., a Kilgen Theatre Organ performance will be held in the Devon Great Hall at the Oklahoma History Center. Organist Juan Cardona Jr. will accompany the silent film “Silent Movie” starring Mel Brooks.
Cardona has been playing piano and organ since he was seven. He has been the staff organist at the Thomaston Opera House in Connecticut for 15 years and the Bardavon Opera House in New York for the past decade.
Cardona has accompanied more than 30 silent films, including “Phantom of the Opera,” “Robin Hood” and “Big Business.” He has performed theatre organ concerts in eight states.
Tickets are $10 for Oklahoma Historical Society members and $20 for the general public. They can be purchased online or by calling 405-522-0765.
The Oklahoma History Center is located at 800 Nazih Zuhdi Dr. in Oklahoma City. It is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
