Oklahoma Historical Society Announces Genealogy Lunch & Learn Programming
OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS) Research Center announces three upcoming Lunch & Learn programs for researchers and family historians scheduled for June 21, July 19 and August 16. These programs will include helpful tips and advice on family research that will be useful to both beginning and experienced genealogists.
On June 21 speaker Nancy Calhoun will help participants identify resources for Civil War research including books, free websites and subscription websites. On July 19 OHS Manuscripts Archivist Mallory Covington will speak about OHS manuscript collections and explain how to use the various records, correspondence and documents for historical and genealogical research. The August 16 program will feature Deputy Bradley Wynn, who will share information about a new collection at the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office.
Research Center Lunch & Learns are held in the Oklahoma History Center classrooms from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration is $15 per person and lunch is included. The Research Center is a division of the Oklahoma Historical Society.
