OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS) and Rose State College are partnering to offer “Finding Family: Traditional Resources and Genetic Genealogy,” a one-day class on Monday, October 15, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. What do you need to know about DNA for genealogical research? Class participants will learn how to choose a test and about the confidentiality of the results. The class also will explore traditional resources and how to find them for free, including city directories, yearbooks, microfilm, maps and more. Instructors will teach students how to use OHS manuscript collections, photo collections, film and video, audio collections and Oklahoma newspapers.
This class will be held at the Rose State College Community Learning Center, and registration is through Rose State College. The cost is $39 per person and lunch is included. Find a link to register online at www.okhistory.org/calendar/event/finding-family.
