Bake Day at Fort Gibson on November 10
FORT GIBSON, Okla. — Fort Gibson Historic Site will host Bake Day on Saturday, November 10, starting at 10 a.m. The smell of fresh bread and the taste of free samples will make history come to life. This living history presentation is an educational event that depicts one aspect of army life during and after the Civil War.
Head baker Rory Montgomery will explain the process of baking bread in an old stone oven while guests enjoy bread baking demonstrations. Visitors will have the opportunity to buy a coffee cup in the gift shop for $10—the bakers may have a warm beverage available to pour into it. Guests also can have their own favorite bread baked in the wood-fired oven at Fort Gibson.
Come experience Bake Day and view what this 87-acre historic site has to offer. For more information please call 918-478-4088 or email fortgibson@okhistory.org.
