Tracing Your Roots Genealogy Class at Chisholm Trail Museum
KINGFISHER, Okla. — On Saturday, March 30, from 1 to 4 p.m. the Chisholm Trail Museum in Kingfisher will offer Tracing Your Roots, a class designed to teach individuals genealogy skills and resources from the basics through advanced research. Topics include beginning genealogical research, record keeping, use of census records, accessing newspapers, American Indian genealogical research, accessing Oklahoma Historical Society archival information, identifying tools for success and more. The class will be led by Laura Martin, deputy director of the Oklahoma Historical Society Research Center.

The Chisholm Trail Museum is located at 605 Zellers Ave. in Kingfisher. The museum’s regular hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors ages 60 and older, $3 for children ages 6 to 18, and free for children 5 and under, and includes admission to the A. J. Seay Mansion.
The Chisholm Trail Museum is an affiliate of the Oklahoma Historical Society. The mission of the Oklahoma Historical Society is to collect, preserve and share the history and culture of the state of Oklahoma and its people.
