Event Navigation
Visit the Pioneer Woman Museum for a free lecture by Karen Neurohr on Saturday, March 25, from 10 to 11 am. Neurohr, a professor at Oklahoma State University, will discuss Oklahoma literary legend Wilma Elizabeth McDaniel.
Born near Stroud, Oklahoma, Wilma Elizabeth McDaniel attended schools in Lincoln and Creek counties. She felt wrenched from her home in 1936 when her family migrated to California where she became known as the Okie Poet. Anthologized in American working-class literature, her poetry reveals an appreciation for everyday people and her deep love for Oklahoma, friends, and family. All are welcome to attend this lecture and learn more about this Oklahoma literary legend.
