Frontier Festival and Dance

On Friday, May 8, from 5 to 9 p.m., the CSRHC will host a Frontier Festival and Dance. Experience what life was like in 1893 as attendees celebrate the largest land run in American history with a carnival, town social, live music, and dancing. The Humphrey Heritage Village will be transformed into a makeshift frontier town, with living history demonstrations and hands-on activities. Humphrey Heritage Village is home to four authentic historical buildings, including the only remaining 1893 United States Land Office, a 1902 village church, an 1895 one-room country school, and a 1905 Victorian home featuring the family belongings of J. W. and Alice Glidewell. The town social, supper, and carnival games begin at 5 p.m. The Prairie County Avengers band with play for a called dance at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person, or $15 for a ticket that includes a fried chicken box supper.
