Living History Education Day

Individual visitors and school groups are invited to a living history event at Fort Towson Historic Site on Thursday, March 5, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Educational stations will include reenactors portraying soldiers and civilians from the fort’s beginning through the 1870s. Individuals and groups will travel through the camps where the reenactors will show visitors uniforms, weapons and lifestyles of soldiers, trappers, storekeepers and other people who lived and worked in the region surrounding Fort Towson.

Preregistration is required for school groups wishing to take advantage of this field trip opportunity. Teachers must accompany each group, and a ratio of one adult for every eight students is strongly recommended. There is no admission charge for this event.
