Susan B. Anthony Living History, Oklahoma History Center

March 24, 2016

Event Navigation

To celebrate Women’s History Month, the Oklahoma History Center will present a living history portrayal of social activist and education reformer, Susan B. Anthony. There will be three separate performances on Thursday, March 24, in the Chesapeake Events Center at the Oklahoma History Center. The first program will be at 11 am for students grades 9-12. Performances open to the general public will be held at 2 pm and 7 pm. Admission is free, but seating is limited so an early arrival is recommended.

Marjorie Goldman, of Philadelphia, Pa., will present a dramatic living history portrayal of Susan B. Anthony, a prominent women’s right activist and suffragist in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Goldman is a free-lance theater artist and part-time library assistant. She has a master’s degree in American Studies, has taught US history at the high school and college levels and is also a certified docent at the National Susan B. Anthony Museum and House in Rochester, N.Y. Goldman feels very fortunate to be able to combine both her academic and performing interests in her work bringing historical figures to life.
