October 19, 2018, 7 p.m.–10 p.m.
Event Navigation
Join the Oklahoma Historical Society for an immersive evening in the 1940s. Held at the Oklahoma History Center, this annual fundraising event will entertain guests with a USO Show complete with dancing and live entertainment, and an Officers’ Club with more relaxed 1940s music where guests can mingle. The photo booth will be back, allowing guests to insert themselves in some of history’s most memorable WWII propaganda posters. The evening will include heavy hors d’oeuvres and drinks from the time period, a dress-up station, dance lessons, vignettes, and fun! Featuring live big band music from Talk of the Town Orchestra, emcee Jay Hannah, the Andrews Sisters, Bob Hope, swing dancing, Army vs. Navy, war bonds, and SPAM!

FAQ
What is the difference between the two ticket prices?
The $50 entry fee ($40 for OHS members) will get you general access to the event. This will include the USO Show featuring big band music by Talk of the Town Orchestra, the quieter “Officers’ Club” with softer music and a Casa Blanca vibe, the green screen photo booth, dance lessons, dress-up station, and two drink tickets, but will NOT include guaranteed seating for the USO Show.
The Officer’s Access tickets for $100 ($80 for OHS members) gets you general entry to the event, but also includes an open bar of wine, beer, and specialty cocktails, and access to the reserved seating area for the USO Show.
What should I wear?
We encourage you to dress up in 1940s-themed clothing, but it is certainly not required! To help you figure out what to wear or how to transform something you already own into a 1940s outfit, visit our Pinterest board dedicated to the event.
Do I need to bring cash?
Short answer—probably. The Oklahoma History Center does not have an ATM. There will be a cash bar available for those wishing to purchase drinks after using their drink tickets or for those with Officer’s Access tickets who wish for a drink not offered at the open bar.
Additionally, there will be a War Bond raffle during the event. We have put together some great raffle prizes and will be encouraging guests to buy “war bonds” ($10 raffle tickets) to contribute to the effort!
It sounds like you have a lot of amazingly fun stuff going on, how can I make sure I don’t miss something?
You are right; there is a lot going on! Don’t worry, we will have a schedule of events so that no one misses out on a USO Show, Bob Hope, the Andrews Sisters or (most importantly) SPAM!
