Event Navigation
Visit the Frank Phillips Home in Bartlesville for Aunt Jane’s Ice Cream Social on Saturday, August 5, from 1:30 to 4:30 pm. This event is held annually to celebrate Jane Phillips’ birthday (August 8, 1877). Frank and Jane Phillips built this 26-room Neo-Classical mansion in 1908, and it is open for tours year-round. During Aunt Jane’s Ice Cream Social, all are invited to enjoy free ice cream and cookies in the garden cottage. This event is hosted by the Frank Phillips Home and the Jane Phillips Society. View a list of regular tour times and admission fees at www.okhistory.org/sites/frankphillips.
The home was the residence of Frank Phillips, founder of Phillips Petroleum Company, and his family. It was remodeled twice, the last time in 1930. Thereafter, neither Frank and Jane Phillips nor their granddaughter, who donated the home to the OHS in 1973, made significant changes to the interior. Thus, with a few exceptions, the furniture, decorations, and even personal effects are original. As a consequence, the home depicts the lives, tastes, fashions, and values of the Phillips family and their world. As an example of the personal home of an Oklahoma oil millionaire, it is a window through which visitors can step back to those times and experience the home life of one of America’s most fascinating oil men. Today, the Frank Phillips Home preserves its history and furnishings, and offers tours and various presentations throughout the year.
