“Cemetery Symbols: Carved in Stone” program (virtual)
October 31, 2020, 1 p.m.–3 p.m.
Event Navigation
Join the Oklahoma History Center as we explore the meaning behind historic gravestones in a virtual program on Saturday, October 31, from 1 to 3 p.m. Gravestones and cemeteries are rich in a language of symbols. Symbols can be difficult to interpret because their meaning changes over time. By examining the grave markers, one can learn more than just the person’s name. This virtual class will provide the skills necessary to investigate the past through tombstones. The cost is $5 for OHS members and $10 for nonmembers. Registration opens on September 18 and closes on October 28.
