July 27, 2019
Event Navigation
Celebrate the National Day of the Cowboy at Pawnee Bill Ranch and Museum on Saturday, July 27. This year, you can attend the rescheduled Wild West Show—it’s the perfect way to join the nationwide celebration!
Tickets are now on sale! Pawnee Bill Ranch and Museum will celebrate the theme “Women of the Wild West Shows” during this year’s re-creation of Pawnee Bill’s Original Wild West Show on Friday, July 26, and Saturday, July 27. Preshow entertainment begins at 7 p.m. and the Wild West Shows start at 7:30 p.m.
Through the years, many talented women were featured in Wild West Shows. They performed dangerous and daring feats on horseback, and proved to be just as good as their male counterparts. As true pioneers, they challenged the traditional roles of women in the 19th century.
The show will feature reenactments of acts from Pawnee Bill’s Original Wild West Show along with new attractions to commemorate “Women of the Wild West Shows.” Kevin Webb will portray Gordon W. “Pawnee Bill” Lillie for the 11th time. Webb, a long-time Wild West Show cast member and Pawnee Bill Ranch employee, is also a whip artist and chariot racer. Alyce Webb (Kevin’s wife) will portray May Lillie for the first time, performing her act on horseback. This year’s show will include more great women performers, including Amanda Poole as Lulu Bell Parr, Tayla Burns as Princess Winona, and Danae Ray as Annie Oakley. Trick riders Windy Ratchford Lattin and Cheridyn Bateman will demonstrate a complete mastery of their equine companions while performing some of the wildest stunts ever seen!
