2013 Honey Springs Battle Reenactment November 8-10, 2013 The Honey Springs Battlefield Historic Site will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Honey Springs.
The battle, fought July 17, 1863, was the most important engagement of the Civil War in Indian Territory. Activities will include battle reenactments featuring infantry, cavalry, and artillery; guided and self-guided tours of the camps; various demonstrations; living history programs; and sutlers.
Friday, November 8 will be an education day for students. Battle reenactments will be held at 1pm on Saturday and Sunday.
