Hunter’s Home will hold a workshop on natural dyeing and English paper piecing on Saturday, September 20, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Guests will learn how to dye fabric using methods and natural materials that were present in the 1850s. They will use American pokeweed berries and onion skin to dye the fabric fuchsia and yellow. Guests will create a floral English paper-pieced potholder with dyed fabric to show the potential uses of naturally dyed fabric in the 1850s.
Interested parties should register in advance for this class, which costs $10 per person. To register, please call 918-456-2751. Hunter’s Home is at 19479 E. Murrell Home Rd. in Park Hill. The site is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
