Living History Presentations with Barbara Byrd

Free with museum admission. Presentations will begin at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The morning performance will be “Mary Elizabeth Walker,” a Richmond, Virginia, mail order bride who was lured to Ponca City, Indian Territory, in 1894 only to find the her “6′ 2″, rancher husband to be” was not who he claimed in his letters.
The afternoon performance will be “Stella Louise Wilson-Johnson,” the wife of a prominent Guthrie, Oklahoma, attorney at the time of Oklahoma statehood.
Barbara Byrd is a prolific storyteller and gifted seamstress. She travels the state telling stories of the women who make Oklahoma great. She is currently working on a new story of the Harvey Girls, which she hopes to unveil in 2014
