May Day Celebration

Hunter’s Home will host its annual May Day Celebration on Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A celebration of the beginning of the growing season on the nineteenth-century plantation, the event will feature entertainment and living history demonstrations. Attendees will enjoy lawn games, live music, animals of the plantation, gardening, food preparation, fiber arts, blacksmithing demonstrations, and other farm work.
Hands-on activities related to nineteenth-century life will fill the historic site. Guests can even participate in a maypole at 3 p.m. The historic home and outbuildings also will be open for tours. Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs and picnic lunches. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors ages 62 and up, $4 for students, and free for children five and under.
