Mingle at the Mansion, Henry Overholser Mansion
December 14, 2018, 6 p.m.–8 p.m.
Event Navigation
For decades, the Henry Overholser Mansion served as a place for bustling holiday parties and festivities. The home was adorned with decorations, and the rooms were filled with merriment and yuletide cheer. Those days will return when Preservation Oklahoma (POK) presents the second annual “Designer Holiday at the Overholser Mansion,” an event where POK partners with some of Oklahoma City’s most talented interior designers to deck our historic halls for the holiday season. The decorated rooms will be available for public view during regular hours of operation from Wednesday, December 5, through Friday, December 21.
POK also will host “Mingle at the Mansion,” a special happy hour event on December 14 from 6 to 8 pm. This event will feature light bites, live holiday music by local artist Chase Kerby, and an opportunity to meet with designers. Beer will be provided by COOP Ale Works, and the evening will include a special bubbly tasting from Artisan Fine Wine and Spirits and an array of holiday cocktails by Oklahoma Distilling Company. Festive cocktail attire is encouraged. Tickets are $45 each, and all proceeds will benefit the Overholser Mansion Carriage House renovations planned for winter 2019.
This year, local designers from Hannah Sutter Interiors, Notting Hill Antiques, Roost Oklahoma, Scout Studios, Amber Nicole & Co., Winter House Interiors, and Calvert’s Plant Interiors have been selected to decorate rooms in the Overholser Mansion in their own unique styles. The home will feature holiday trees and mantles reflecting styles from modern to traditional, while on the outside Freedom Lawn & Landscapes will install holiday lights, brightening the home’s exterior for neighbors and motorists. The home will be open for tours throughout December during normal operating hours. The mansion will be closed for tours during the month of January.
