January 16, 2018
Event Navigation
The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center in Enid is excited to host a temporary exhibit entitled Oklahoma 110. It will be on display in the J. E. and L. E. Mabee Foundation Gallery from Tuesday, January 16, through Wednesday, February 14. The exhibit celebrates 110 years of Oklahoma statehood and will feature artwork by Charla Enns and Jena Kodesh.
Enns and Kodesh are artists and art teachers. Both married to farmers, they share a love of the land and particularly their native land of Oklahoma. This exhibit will include traditional art and subject matter with a contemporary twist. Enns enjoys painting with pastels and acrylic, while Kodesh prefers to paint with watercolor and oils. Kodesh will also bring works of clay, wire, and glass. The works of Enns and Kodesh complement one other well, even across a variety of artistic media.
On Saturday, January 20, from 1 to 3 pm the public will have an opportunity to meet the artists during a special Open House for the Oklahoma 110 exhibit. Guests are welcome to visit with the artists and ask questions, and refreshments will be available. For more information please call 580-237-1907.
