Oklahoma Route 66 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

On Saturday, July 27, at 2 p.m., the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum will host the Oklahoma Route 66 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum in Clinton.
Beginning at 2 p.m., the Oklahoma Route 66 Association will induct two special Oklahomans into the Oklahoma Route 66 Hall of Fame. The inductees will be announced at the ceremony. Inductions are held every two years for individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the promotion or preservation of Route 66. The selection includes a nomination and committee process conducted by the association. The winners’ plaques are displayed in the Oklahoma Route 66 Association Hall of Fame in the “WOW!” exhibit room at the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum.
Immediately following the ceremony, the museum will hold an opening for a new photo exhibit titled Discovering 66 by Rhys Martin, President of the Oklahoma Route 66 Association.
The Oklahoma Route 66 Museum will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is open and free of charge. Attendees are invited to enjoy refreshments while listening to popular music when Route 66 was a main highway to travel. The event is sponsored by the Oklahoma Historical Society, the Oklahoma Route 66 Association, and the Friends of the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum, Inc.
The Oklahoma Route 66 Museum is at 2229 W. Gary Blvd. in Clinton. Regular admission is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors ages 62 and up, $4 for children ages 6 to 18, and free for children under 6.
