Pioneer Family Fun Day, Pioneer Woman Museum

June 18, 2016

Event Navigation

When the bell rings, it is time to take your seat at the Pioneer Woman Museum Pioneer School on Saturday, June 18, as part of the museum’s weekly Pioneer Family Fun Days summer program. Mrs. Fagan will have instruction on cursive writing, how a student is to behave in a classroom set in 1907 and practicing mathematical computations on a slate board.

In addition to Pioneer School, Dr. Doug Gaffin, professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Oklahoma, will present, “Scorpion Biology: Looking for Love in All the Dark Places.” This fun, interactive presentation is for all ages.

Pioneer School is open to families with children ages six and older. As the summer progresses, there will be a total of seven Saturdays where families can enjoy indoor and outdoor activities at the museum. Families of up to six people can join in the fun for only $5. The activities are designed so that participants can come and go from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Each week’s activities are preplanned and more information can be found at www.facebook.com/PioneerWomanMuseum. Most activities are appropriate for ages six and up, but everyone is welcome. For more information about any of the programs and events hosted by the Pioneer Woman Museum, contact the museum at 580-765-6108, piown@okhistory.org or visit its Facebook page.
