Four Saturday sessions: October 28, November 4, 11, 18 | 1:00–4:30 pm
The University of Central Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Historical Society will present this four-week class. This course is designed to teach individuals the basics of genealogy. Topics include the following: how to begin your genealogical search, record keeping, software; census records; vital records; using newspapers for genealogical research; America Indian genealogical research tools; beginning DNA; how to search for heritage online; how to obtain free resources that are available for research, and how to access materials located in the Oklahoma Historical Society. In addition, the class will offer a behind the scenes tour of the Oklahoma Historical Society Research Center.
Classes will meet in the Clark and Kay Musser Learning Lab, located in the Research Center on the first floor of the Oklahoma History Center, 800 Nazih Zuhdi Drive, Oklahoma City.
