Will Rogers’s Birthday Celebration

The Will Rogers Memorial Museum and Birthplace Ranch will celebrate the 140th anniversary of the November 4, 1879, birth of Oklahoma’s Favorite Son on an Indian Territory ranch on Monday, November 4, and Tuesday, November 5.
On November 4, the Birthplace Ranch in Oologah will host a birthday celebration with an original musical presentation entitled “Will Rogers: Cherokee Kid,” performed by students from Oologah-Talala Public Schools. Kowboy Kal, trick roper and national champion six-gun spinner, will also provide entertainment. In Claremore, the Will Rogers Memorial Museum will offer free admission from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to celebrate Rogers’s birthday. Admission to the Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch is always free, but donations are accepted.
Kids Day at the Museum is scheduled for November 5 at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Claremore. Families can enjoy nineteenth-century games, storytelling, and demonstrations by hands-on historians while touring the museum’s galleries, children’s area, and state-of-the-art theater.
