American Indian Heritage Month at the Oklahoma History Center
The Oklahoma History Center is celebrating American Indian Heritage Month in November. Join us November 21 for a day featuring traditional children's games and clothing with demonstrations and exhibitions from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All events are free with museum admission. On Saturday, February 27, the Oklahoma History Center welcomes Dr. Donnie Nero Sr. Dr. Nero will speak about the history of African American education in Oklahoma. Dr. Nero is president of the Oklahoma African American Educators Hall of Fame and former president of Connors State College. Dr. Nero's program will begin at 11am. A documentary will follow at 1pm and an Okietales program for children will begin at 2pm.

The Oklahoma Historical Society's Oklahoma History Conference will be held in Woodward, Oklahoma, April 27–29, 2016. Murrell Home Living History Education Day
The George M. Murrell Home Historic Site, just south of Tahlequah, will host its 6th Annual Living History Education Day on Friday, May 6, 2016. Public, private, and homeschool students, ages K-12, are invited to attend the program. The Oklahoma History Center invites kids ages 8 to 12 to participate in History Pioneers Junior Curator Camp, Monday-Friday, July 18-22. Participants will work to create their own exhibit to display at the History Center with an exhibit opening on Friday, July 22 at 2 p.m. Cost is $75 per person. Textile Preservation class

Living History Education Day, Fort Towson Historic Site
On Thursday, March 8, Fort Towson Historic Site will host Living History Education Day.
