2025 Oklahoma Farm-to-Table Festival

Saturday, March 22
The Oklahoma History Center will hold the 2025 Oklahoma Farm-to-Table Festival on Saturday, March 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free, family-friendly event will encourage the exploration of historic and modern agriculture. There will be hands-on activities and demonstrations for visitors of all ages.

The festival will offer many educational opportunities and experiences, including chuckwagon cooking and nutrition demonstrations, livestock, a petting zoo, various crafts, and story time. In addition, Made-in-Oklahoma vendors will attend to illustrate how their products are created and distributed, and musical entertainment will be on the main stage. The event will take place indoors and outdoors.

During this event, visitors can enjoy all festival activities and access to the exhibit galleries for free!

The Oklahoma History Center invites organizations to participate in the Oklahoma Farm-to-Table Festival. At this family festival, attendees will explore historic perspectives, farm life, and how food gets to our table. Families will experience perspectives from Colonial America to the modern day with hands-on activities for visitors of all ages.

American Indian Boarding School Teacher Professional Development

March 27 and April 30
Teachers are invited to register for a professional development session focused on American Indian Boarding Schools. Educators can choose one of these sessions: March 27 with the Choctaw Nation at Fort Towson Historic Site in Fort Towson or April 30 with the Kiowa Tribe at the Kiowa Tribe Red Wolf Community Center in Carnegie. Sessions are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The morning will focus on content, while the afternoon will emphasize practical application. A possible $250 resource grant may be available to support classroom resources and lesson plans.

Funding is available to reimburse school districts for substitute teacher expenses.

Calligraphy class

Saturday, April 12
The Oklahoma History Center Museum will hold a calligraphy class on Saturday, April 12, from 1 to 3 p.m. Taught by the Japan America Society of Oklahoma, this class is designed for ages 12 and older. The cost will be $24 for Oklahoma Historical Society members and $34 for non-members, and all supplies will be provided. Registration closes on Saturday, April 7.

Okietales

June 23 and 30
July 7, 14, and 21

Join the Oklahoma History Center Museum for Okietales on select Mondays in June and July. Families paying a visit to the History Center are invited to hear a live book reading with the added opportunity to experience history hands-on! After each story is read aloud, children and families will be able to see, touch, and feel historical items relating to the subject matter. Activities and crafts may also be included as an interactive way for young families to experience history at the museum.

Okietales requires no registration or cost. It is a free come-and-go program with paid admission to the Oklahoma History Center Museum. Okietales are fun programs that are easy for families to join at their desired level of learning. The story time and activities are geared toward elementary school students and younger along with their families. Books and themes will be largely Oklahoma-related and connected to the state’s history.




Teacher Resource Social

Thursday, August 7
Educators, get ready for resources galore! We will have door prize giveaways and plenty of free resources from museums and organizations around the state to help you plan for the upcoming school year. Join us at the Oklahoma History Center on Thursday, August 7, from 3 to 5 p.m.

This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Please note that registration information may be shared with Teacher Resource Social vendors.

Nonprofits are invited to share their resources with educators! Museums, organizations, and vendors who would like to participate in this event, please register now. Organizations will need to bring a door prize valued at $50 or more on the day of the event.
