Dick Wilkerson began his law enforcement career as a police officer, but later joined the OSBI in 1969 and became the resident agent in Tahlequah. While at Tahlequah, he was the lead investigator on one of Oklahoma’s most famous cases which involved Rex Brinlee Jr., who was convicted of murder following the bombing of a witness who was expected to testify against him in a case regarding auto theft. He was elected state senator for District 13 which covers all or part of Pottawatomie, Seminole, Hughes, Garvin, and Pontotoc Counties.
