Tim Blake Nelson

(1964– )

It’s a testament to Tim Blake Nelson’s acting ability that he was able to play Delmar, the doofus in O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000), with such conviction. In fact, Tim, a writer and director as well as an actor, is widely regarded as one of the country’s most serious filmmakers. For example, critic Roger Ebert refers to Tim’s Holocaust film, The Grey Zone (2001), as “immediate” and “unblinking.”

Tim has also written and directed thought-provoking, noir films set in Oklahoma, including Eye of God (1997) and Leaves of Grass (2009). Eye of God features Tulsa native Mary Kay Place.

Did You Know...
