Claude Allen Martin and Carrie Mae Wallace were born in Cotton County and married in 1938. Offspring of farmers, they began farming in Cotton County, facing the challenges of the Great Depression, World War II and the 1950s drought. They met these challenges and reared a family consisting of Ronald Allen, Marilyn Jean and Lewis Edward. Claude, Carrie and Marilyn are interred in the Walters, Oklahoma, cemetery.
