Murray Doyle Shephard was born on 6/11/1926 northwest of Arapaho to Robert (Bob) Shephard and Lovonia Baker Shephard. He attended school at Womble and Arapaho. He served in World War II with the 534th army air engineers squadron at Clarks Field in the Philippines. He married Evelyn Huebert 9/17/1951. They farmed and ranched on Barnitz Creek in Custer County. They are the parents of Charlotte Ann, Sandra Jean, Beth Rae, Charles Lee and Robert Warren. He died on 3/14/99.
