George and Lela Waters

Lela Myrtle Smith Waters, b: 2-23-1922 in Temple, OK. d: 5-9-2003 at Oklahoma City, OK. Ashes were scattered south of Pawnee, but a marker is at Pawnee cemetery. Met George Allen Waters while she was a student at OAMC and they married on May 19, 1942 in Stillwater, OK. They had three children: David Aaron Waters (1-28-1948), Claudia Allene Waters Conrad Donley (9-3-1949) and James Allen Waters (2-25-1951). Had four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Was known as "Memaw." She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for the family business. She loved to travel and was active in a local home extension group.
