General Sherman Spoon was born 5 Jun 1895 in Boonville, AR. His mother, Ida Ledbetter Spoon, named her boys after famous people. His family came to OK in 1908 from AR. He married Zorada Belle Ogle, b. 7 Dec 1898 in New Mexico Territory near Tucumcari, on 10 Sep 1916 in Grady Co., OK. They lived all their married life in Chickasha and raised two children, Leonard & Velma. He was custodian at Chickasha High School for many years.
