Benjamin B and Olive (Shumard) Benson

Benjamin Barry Benson and Olive Shumard (my maternal grandparents) came to Okfuskee County, Oklahoma Territory, about 1898 from Kansas. They lived in and around Okemah, Oklahoma, the rest of their lives. They farmed and Grandpa also ran the cotton gin, a feedstore, and hatchery. Grandma enjoyed her garden and won several prizes at the fair for her flowers. Their 10 children included several teachers and a banker.
