Newspaper Archives

Originally organized as part of the Oklahoma Press Association, the Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS) has been collecting Oklahoma newspapers since 1893. The newspaper archives include approximately 4,000 titles dating from 1844 to the present, and it continues to grow with the collection of more than 150 current titles every week. It is the oldest, largest, and most complete collection of Oklahoma newspapers available.

Newspapers on Microfilm

The Newspaper Archives consist of more than 42,000 reels of microfilm. All microfilm is available for viewing, free of charge, at the Research Center. If you are interested in viewing newspapers published from 2015 to the present, please contact the Newspaper Department in advance of your visit at 405-522-0868 or sarah.biller@history.ok.gov.

OHS materials are non-circulating, and we do not participate in the interlibrary loan program.
