Current Branch Functions
Regional Affairs – Investigates the unique economic environment and development issues of the state. They provide current economic analysis, conduct economic research and lead regional monetary policy communications.
Public Affairs – Increases the public’s knowledge and understanding of the Federal Reserve. The Branch offers programs devoted to economic education and financial literacy issues, as well as speakers for academic, civic, business and community organizations.
Community Affairs – Supports economic growth by promoting community development, financial literacy and fair and impartial access to credit. The department focuses research on challenging issues affecting economic prospects in low- and moderate-income communities and brings together community stakeholders to explore prospective solutions.
Supervision and Regulation - Works with banks in Oklahoma to review a bank’s financial performance, assessing how well it is run and how it manages risk. Bank examiners housed at the Oklahoma City Branch supervise and examine Oklahoma state-chartered banks that are members of the Federal Reserve System and all Oklahoma bank holding companies.
Financial Services – Serves as a resource for Oklahoma’s financial institutions, providing them with a wide-range of solutions to make their financial operations run smoothly.
Oklahoma City Branch Board of Directors
Each Branch Bank is required to operate under the supervision of a seven-member board of directors. Four members of the Oklahoma City Branch board are appointed by the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank Board of Directors and three are appointed by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors.
Oklahoma City Branch directors provide reports on current and prospective economic and business conditions, as well as emerging trends in their region. In addition, they offer their views on the appropriate stance of monetary policy going forward.
